FLAME CUTTING

Flame cutting is a method to cut Steel. The process consists of heat burned from oxy fuel gas, to cut steel materials or profiles required. At Malthouse we can flame cut through a range of material 6mm being the lowest and the highest being 500mm.

LUMSDEN GRINDING

Lumsden grinding is a popular grinding method which removes excess material by conducting a machining process using a grinding machine. The machines are operated with the help of grinding stones which get in contact with the material allowing the material to achieve the tolerance required. This needs to be all left aligned, currently is right aligned.

EDGE MACHINING

At Malthouse we operate edge-cutting machining. Machining is used as an instrument to achieve the end product. This process is accomplished by shearing off the excess material to obtain the tolerance required.

LEVELLING

A levelling process which is also referred as “Heat Press” is used. This process entails straightening the product(s) to as level as they can be. This allows the product to achieve flatness which makes it easier to accomplish the end product.

FURNACING

Furnace is a structure in which extreme heat is produced with the help of combustion. The heat is used for steel products which may require according to the need of the customer’s order. An example of utilising the furnace would be through normalising. This involves heating the material to a raised temperature and then allowing it to cool back down to room temperature by exposing it to room temperature air after it is heated.
